How does finding a summer camp become a simplified task? From problematic to pleasant, CampNote makes it easy to discover camps.

Parents and caregivers in the U.S. need childcare in summer months. Camps fill the need but finding the right camp and booking it can be a frustrating process. Exploring childcare needs resulted in an app design that makes finding and scheduling camps all-in-one.

Parents and caregivers need an improved approach to finding camps. I proposed an app that would support searching for summer camps according to age, date, and activity, and scheduling various camps.

-
50% prioritized "date"
-
50% prioritized "activity"
-
No participant liked the idea of scheduling summer camp
-
Having information in one place would make scheduling easier
My process involved ideation, sketching, storyboard, survey, screeners, recruiting and interviews, competitive analysis, cognitive walkthrough, affinity & empathy maps, themes and findings, persona, design recommendations, wireframing, & low and hi-fi prototyping, encapsulated in an eight week project schedule.

-
Search should include age, date, and activity
-
Moving from frustration to satisfaction is important
-
A camp director said they were interested in mobile and reaching more families to share information

Findings led to low-fi wireframes, wireflows, logo iteration, and early hi-fi prototype.

A task that was frustrating is now easy. Faceted search including location, age, dates, and activities plus direct booking and payment means that summer is more fun with CampNote.
